For this project, we created and modelled huge vases inspired by the traditional Chinese aesthetics of lattice vases and Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) vases, which were then installed around trees in several public places in major cities in China. Commissioned by the Red T Group, the project aimed to raise awareness of environmental conservation by creating beauty from plastic waste. The sculptures were 3D printed from recycled plastic filaments collected by the communities living around the sculptures. In this installation, the vases originally intended to protect what is inside them, protect the trees, so precious to our environment.
